The F1 mounting plate attaches to medium-large sized camera bodies and folds flat to sit level on a table, or when packing the camera up in a bag.
The F1 mounting plate has also been designed to be Arca Swiss compatible. If you are using an Arca Swiss type tripod mount, the F1 allows you to attach directly to the tripod without extra mounting plates.
